Principal's Message

To the Lordship School Community:

Welcome back to the 2017-2018 school year!! The first few days were very positive and upbeat! The teachers had been working over the last few weeks to prepare their classrooms for the children's arrival. And the students came bounding through the doors full of energy and enthusiasm-it is always so great to welcome our families back and to greet the families new to Lordship School! We continue to look forward to building relationships and partnerships with our families so that the children will thrive within our school community!

We have rolled out the dates within the first few months of school and hope this will be helpful to our families in your own planning. This is a monthly newsletter where additional dates will be added each month. Please refer to your school calendar for any long term planning. Our PTA also sends home

calendars outlining their events as well.

Many staff changes have occurred at Lordship School-Mrs. DeVitto and Mr. Charlie have decided to retire!!! We wish them well! They have been strong members of the Lordship team and have worked tirelessly to serve the school community. We thank them for their service to the children and families of the Stratford Schools. Our new head secretary is Miss Jenna Sinkewicz who brings great skills to the position as well as a very positive attitude. Please take the time to introduce yourself. We look forward to working with her. Other additions to our school community are:

•    Mr. Jacob Habegger teaching instrumental music as Mr. Garcia who moved to Florida
•    Mrs. Emma Reyes is our new social worker as Mrs. Hogarth will be at Wilcoxson
•    Miss Katie Williams is teaching 4th grade as Mrs. Charity moved to Texas
•    Mrs. Laura Broder is our new psychologist as Ms. Coppolechla moved to another district

Open House is scheduled for Thursday, September 28th at 6:00. At that time, parents will be able to visit their child's classroom, meet the teachers, and shop at the book fair. I look forward to discussing the topics of Mastery Based Learning, Children of Trauma, Accelerated Learners, and SBAC results. Please save the date for this important event!

We look forward to the learning opportunities ahead of us in the 2017-2018 school year and look forward to working with all of our children and their families.

Ms. Kate Murphy, Principal
